When you create an account, a password, design a family tree, or purchase a custom family tree mobile, you may provide information including:

• Your name, email address, password, and other information necessary to create and maintain your account.
• Billing and shipping information necessary to process and fulfill your order.
• Family and genealogical information used to create your family tree, including names, birth dates, death dates, and birth and death locations when available.
• Photographs of individual family members that you choose to upload for inclusion in your family tree mobile.
• Genealogy files that you choose to upload, including GEDCOM files and PDF files. The former include stories about the relatives in the tree.
• Design preferences, instructions, and other information you provide through the Family Tree Builder.
• Information you provide when contacting us by email or otherwise communicating with us.

Some of the information you provide may concern people other than you, including relatives, ancestors, descendants, or other family members. You should only provide photographs and personal information about other individuals when you have the right or permission to provide that information to us.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our website, certain information may be collected automatically by our website and hosting infrastructure. This may include information such as:

• IP address.
• Browser and device type.
• Operating system.
• Pages visited and actions taken on the website.
• Date and time of visits.
• Referring website or page.
• Other technical information necessary to operate and secure the website.

We may use this information to operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security threats.

2. The Family Tree Builder

FamTree Mobiles provides two ways for customers to create their family tree:

1. Manual Entry: Customers may manually enter information about family members, including names, birth dates, death dates, and birth and death locations when available. Customers may also upload individual photographs if they choose to include photographs in their mobile.
2. File Upload: Customers may upload a genealogy file, such as a GEDCOM or PDF file, containing the information needed to create their family tree.

Customers must create an account in order to save their progress in the Family Tree Builder.

Information entered into or uploaded to the Family Tree Builder is not stored on our website and only information in the finalized tree designs submitted for building and delivery are kept by FamTree Mobiles.

The genealogy information you provide through the Family Tree Builder is not sent to a separate genealogy service or third-party genealogy database.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for purposes including:

• Creating and designing your personalized family tree mobile.
• Organizing and interpreting the genealogy information you provide.
• Preparing names, dates, locations, and photographs for inclusion in your mobile.
• Saving your Family Tree Builder progress.
• Processing and fulfilling your order.
• Communicating with you about your order.
• Responding to customer-service questions and requests.
• Processing payments and coordinating shipping and delivery.
• Maintaining and improving our website and Family Tree Builder.
• Protecting the security and integrity of our website and business.
• Complying with applicable legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements.

FamTree Mobiles does not sell your genealogy information, family photographs, or other family-tree information to third parties.

We do not use the genealogy information you provide to create or maintain a separate FamTree genealogy database, and we do not sell or provide your family history to genealogy companies, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own unrelated purposes.

4. Photographs

If you choose to include photographs in your family tree mobile, you may upload individual photographs of family members through the Family Tree Builder. We use these photographs to design and create your custom family tree mobile and for purposes directly related to fulfilling your order. You should only upload photographs that you have the right or permission to provide to us.

Photographs uploaded through the Family Tree Builder are stored through our hosting provider, Bluehost, and are accessible only to authorized FamTree Mobiles employees who need access to them for purposes related to your order or customer service.

4.1 Promotional Use of Customer Trees

FamTree Mobiles may occasionally wish to display completed family tree mobiles in promotional materials, including on our website, social-media accounts, advertisements, or other marketing materials.

We will not use your family tree or photographs for promotional purposes without your permission.

If you give us permission to use your family tree for promotional purposes, you may request that we censor or remove names, dates, locations, photographs, or other identifying information before the tree is displayed publicly.

We will honor reasonable requests regarding the information you want censored or removed from promotional materials.

If you do not give us permission to use your tree for promotional purposes, we will not publicly display it as a customer example.

5. Uploaded GEDCOM and PDF files

Customers may upload GEDCOM or PDF files containing genealogical information through the Family Tree Builder. These files may contain information about multiple individuals, including living family members and individuals who are not customers of FamTree Mobiles. We use uploaded files solely for purposes related to creating and fulfilling your FamTree mobile, providing customer service, and operating the Family Tree Builder.

Uploaded GEDCOM files and photographs are retained for a limited period after your order is shipped. We delete uploaded GEDCOM files and photographs approximately 30 days after your product has been shipped.

This 30-day period allows us to retain the files temporarily in case they are needed to address a return, damage, production error, or other issue related to fulfillment of your order. After this retention period, the applicable GEDCOM files and photographs are deleted from our systems, subject to any backups or records that we may be required to retain for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes.

6. Account Information

An account is required to save progress in the Family Tree Builder. Your account may contain information such as your name, email address, account credentials, saved family-tree information, and other information associated with your use of the Family Tree Builder.

Your account information is stored through our website hosting provider, Bluehost. FamTree Mobiles employees may access account and family-tree information when necessary to provide customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, design your mobile, fulfill your order, or otherwise operate the service.

7. Orders & Payments

When you place an order, we collect information necessary to process and fulfill that order, which may include your name, email address, billing information, shipping address, telephone number, order details, and payment-related information.

Our online store uses WooCommerce to manage e-commerce functionality, including the shopping cart and checkout process.

Payment information may be processed by the payment provider(s) configured for our WooCommerce store. We do not intentionally retain full payment card numbers on our own website.

8. Shipping & Order Fulfillment

We use the information you provide to fulfill and ship your order.

This may include sharing necessary information, such as your name, shipping address, email address, or telephone number, with shipping carriers or other service providers when necessary to deliver your order.

We share only information reasonably necessary to complete the applicable service.

9. Our Service Providers

FamTree Mobiles uses certain third-party services to operate our website and business.

These currently include:

• Bluehost — our website hosting provider. Information submitted through our website and Family Tree Builder is stored on infrastructure provided by Bluehost.
• WooCommerce — our e-commerce platform used to manage online shopping and orders.
• Gmail/Google — used for business email and customer communications.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.

We do not authorize these providers to use your family-tree information for their own unrelated purposes simply because the information is processed through their services. Their handling of information is also subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

10. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to provide necessary website functionality.

Cookies may be used to:

• Keep you logged into your account.
• Save information necessary for your shopping cart and checkout.
• Remember certain website preferences.

When you interact with third-party content, those third parties may collect information according to their own privacy policies. FamTree Mobiles does not control the privacy practices of third-party websites or services.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of third-party services before providing them with personal information.

12. How Long We Retain Your Information

We retain different types of information for different periods depending on why it was collected.

GEDCOM files and photographs: We generally delete these approximately 30 days after your product has shipped, allowing time to address potential damage, mistakes, returns, or other fulfillment issues.

Account and order information: We may retain account, transaction, and order information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide customer service, maintain business and financial records, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect our legitimate business interests.

Information that we are legally required to retain may be kept for a longer period.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of certain personal information.

Access to customer family-tree information is limited to FamTree Mobiles employees who need access to perform their job responsibilities.

16. When We may share information

FamTree Mobiles does not sell your personal information, genealogy information, or family photographs.

We may share information when reasonably necessary to:

• Process and fulfill your order.
• Process payments.
• Ship your order.
• Operate and maintain our website.
• Provide customer support.
• Use necessary technology and service providers.
• Protect our website, business, customers, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.

We do not provide your genealogy information to third parties for the purpose of allowing them to build their own genealogy databases, advertise to you, or sell your information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, technology, or legal obligations. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
